Students and Faculty Study, Explore in Spain

This summer, Mr. Neil Cifuentes of the SM Modern Language Department accompanied a group of five St. Markers to Segovia, Spain, for study, service, and cultural immersion.

While in Segovia, the St. Mark’s students lived in local homes. They took three courses each day, went on daily excursions around Segovia, tutored local children in English as part of community service, and traveled around the country to Madrid, Cordoba, Granada, and Sevilla.

“St. Mark’s in Segovia has been a success again,” said Mr. Cifuentes. “The immersion program combined with cultural experiences and opportunities for fun created an experience unmatched for our St. Markers. Their language skill improved, and they got a taste of understanding a different way of life in one of the most beautiful cities in Spain!”
